I recently wrapped up a re-read of Neil Gaiman's "American Gods," (still great the second time around) so I've actually been reading a lot of comic books this last week.
Monsters Unleashed #4 - We're nearing the end of this series. Although it is a bit scattered because there are so many battles going on, it's still a blast to watch all of these heroes come together to fight giant monsters from space. I do enjoy that there are the various tie ins where we can watch individual heroes like Doctor Strange do their thing.
Wytches - This is a creepy book and would make a great movie. Lots of twists as the main character, Sail, attempts to escape the terrifying events unfolding around her.
Civil War II - All new Wolverine, Captain Marvel, and Invincible Iron Man tie-ins - I was a bit disappoint in Iron Man. The first two books were great, this one got a bit heavier and had a lot more soul searching for Tony Stark as part of the Civil War II tie in. All new Wolverine was great. I love the addition of Gabby and her interactions with everyone. Overall I really enjoy all of the new Captain Marvel stuff with Alpha Flight, but this book was very reliant on the Civil War II tie in. Glad we're getting past that and we can just have Captain Marvel doing her thing. Bonus points for the big battle and massacre happening in North Fork, just outside of Fresno!
Rocket Raccoon: A Chasing Tail - I'm really enjoying all of the current iterations of Rocket and Groot. They're fun and a bit silly.
Batman Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth - The art in this volume is great. It's quite a difference from what we normally see in a comic, but this is not your typical comic. The are matches the madness of the tail, which I love.
The week ahead - I've never read Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" series before, so I've been making my way through that. I've got volumes 9 and 10 so I should make it through at least one of those.
Also looks like there is a new Guardians of the Galaxy tie in with Monsters Unleashed.
