This week's primary read for me has been The Unworthy Thor. As we already know, Nick Fury whispered something to Thor which left him unworthy of wielding Mjolnir. Jane Foster has taken up the hammer and the title of Thor. Meanwhile the Odinson is out on his own quest to become worthy again.
As this story kicks off, the Odinson meets a mysterious stranger who tells him there is another hammer, another Mjolnir. This hammer has crossed dimensions, seeking out a Thor worthy of wielding it. He travels across the galaxy to find this hammer, meeting up with Beta Ray Bill, clashing with The Collector and Thanos, and finding his way toward being worthy yet again.
This story also reveals what Nick Fury told him, causing him to become unworthy.
This is a brilliantly written story. It's a bit dark, but reveals so much about the characters. We learn a lot about the Thor character, and what truly makes him a hero.
Overall, I thought this book was great. It's relatively short at only 5 issues, but wraps up a great storyline. If you get a chance, go pick up The Unworthy Thor and give it a read!
