The second issue of X-Men Blue is here, following the young X-Men who have been pulled forward in time to the present day! Last issue we saw them fighting the Hellfire Club and The Juggernaut, and heading home and meeting their leader Magneto. While I found the issue as a whole to be OK, that twist at the end was amazing. Talk about a set up that leaves me begging for more!
This issue got a bit better overall, with The X-Men battling Magneto (or at least practicing to in the Danger Room) and we see a bit of flashback when Magneto met with Jean Grey to talk about joining forces. He even removes his helmet to let her into his mind to prove that he is serious.
As the issue progresses we see Iceman leaving a message for his girlfriend (I get that we're supposed to see that they have real problems, but this is tough for me to relate to as a 34-year old). A more interesting side story is Beast having a conversation with...someone about his magic use.
And as we approach the end of the story, we get another surprising twist! I won't give it away, you should really give this issue a read. I know I seem to sell X-Men Blue short at times, but the wrap ups are always great and keep me wanting more! If it isn't available at your local comic shop, you can get it digitally here
